we have new black leather furniture and house has brown paneling, we can't repaint or remodel, any ideas?
We just bought expensive black leather furniture that we love so much. and now with job reassignment we had to move into an older country farm house with brown wood panelling, it's honestly hideous but we can't paint it or remodel it and it's light brown with dark brown molding at the top and bottom. I am horrible at decorating but I really would like for it to look nice. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this room work and not have to spend hundreds of dollars?

- Plants will ease the difference between the 2 colors.
- Try some tweed throw pillows in off whites(ecru or bone), browns ( tan, beige, khaki etc) and black sort of tweed. ( or even stripes with those two colors) Use combinations of off white, beige, black and/or even grey in tweeds, stripes, solids with cording of the other color etc. For curtains go with an off white, beige or tan--whatever brown you picked up in the throw pillows) and a band of black either at the bottom or down the edges and bottom. If you don't like the browns go with a real light ecru or tan or a golden beige for more dramatic effect. Table lamps with wooden or antique brass bases and off white lampshades would be great. Black and off white accessories on tables would pull it all together. Since your furniture is leather and the house is a farmhouse style why not go with a western or native American theme. These elements will work well in those themes. Here are some great ideas from HGTV-- http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/decorating/article/0,1793,HGTV_3545_2033258,00.html
- You could get curtains, throw pillows, throw rugs, pictures, ect., to blend the two colors together.get something with some lighter colors, to lighten things up a bit, but, with a little brown and black in them also. It'll look good. Good luck
